Charlene was taken off the respirator and she was able to breathe on her own! She was obviously happy to be rid of the respiratory tube. She celebrated by crying out loud, so loud that the other end of the room can hear her.
We chose the name Charlene because of its meaning "Strong Little Beauty". The name was chosen before the birth on 27 0ct 2009. Amazingly, the meaning is very apt for our daughter as she remains strong and steadfast throughout her period of affliction. She passed away peacefully in mummy's arms and went to Heaven on 14 May 2013.
