27 March 2011

Today, we went to my friend's house in Seng Kang to look at her renovation. Charlene was initially awake but fell asleep later on. We are glad that we are able to meet and catch up with my friend.

We pray that God bless us with a good contractor and that our renovation will go smoothly and completed nicely and that we can move in soon... :)

26 March 2011

Charlene kept sleeping in the day. In an attempt to wake her, we always bring her outside. Today we (together with lincoln) went to Rozel Furniture in Ang Mo Kio industrial park to look at furniture. Charlene is quite upset in her pram. But she will be ok upon pickup.

Charlene changed class to Thur afternoon so that she is the only one in class. Ya, the teachers probably figured that Charlene needs all the attention. :p

Teacher Johnson said that Charlene has made slight improvement in sitting. He told me to buy a multiple strap from Rehab places to hold Charlene's waist muscles together. It would also help Charlene to be more aware of airflow an help her to vocalise more. Charlene was reall making more sounds and the teachers and I were really amused.

19 March 2011

We brought Charlene to Vivo City to attend her friend's 2 year old birthday dinner. Charlene was very good. She just sat quietly throughout and we were able to have our nice steamboat dinner at JPot. We are really happy that we can bring Charlene out without worrying that she will puke. And being able to feed her 4 hrs apart was something that seemed impossible a year ago. Praise the Lord! Indeed, with man it is impossible but with God, all things are possible. Amen.

17 Mar 2011

We (together with Charlene) collected our keys to our new flat today! We excitedly told the customer service officer to take a picture for us with our keys.

Afterwhich, we went to look at our new flat and did our house blessing prayers. We were pleasantly surprised by our flat. We thank God for our flat. 9th floor was just high enough. The scenery was great! Our main door and the bedroom doors were pretty. The living room was more spacious than we have expected. The tiles are good looking. There are many sockets available in each area. The only 'headache' we have is the super small kitchen.

We thank God that He has blessed us with our own house. We pray that our house be filled with His Holy Spirit, His love, joy and peace!

12 Mar 2011

We went to IKEA together as a family for the first time! Charlene was apparently tired. She only opened her eyes and looked around when she was bein carried. When she was put in the pram she had a sullen face and was listless. I was quite glad to be out of the house and finally got a chance to eat my meatballs! Thank you Lord Jesus!

11 Mar 2011

Finally, Dez us coming back to Singapore tonight. He was working in Perth since Mon. In the absence of Daddy, Charlene decided to sleep in the day and wake up at night. So I was kept awake by her every night from 12am to 7am. I only get a stretch of sleep around 3-4hrs. The rest of the sleep in the day is random and disrupted due to multiple feedings of milk and water. Thank God for His grace and strength in sustaining me.

My mum was busy and couldn't come to visit. So Charlene wa sleeping through the day from 8am. I decided that I will bring her to cell group in hope of adjusting her biological clock back. Thank God for helpful brothers and sisters who fetched me and assisted me in gauze changing. Charlene was awake during cell and was smiling. :)

Thank you Lord Jesus! This is the first time that Charlene and I are out together (without Daddy)!

Praise the Lord! X-Rays of Charlene's neck and spine are both normal. Her therapists in school were concerned of instability of her neck and sclerosis (curving of her spine). We thank God for blessing Charlene. As her pediatrician put it, at least we have one less problem to deal with. And from the beginning, we already knew that Charlene couldn't do many things due to her brain damage. We will continue to pray that God rewire her brain and that neuroplasticity takes place within her brain.

8 Mar 2011

Charlene was awake from 130am-530am. Slept for 2 hrs and was awake from 730-1030am. Her grandparents were frantically getting her to sleep for 1.5 hrs with no avail. At 930am, I played with her and she was excited. Then she slept from 1030am till 130pm (when she was disturbed in school). She was awake and smiling in the pool of balls in playroom and was looking at the lights in the multi-sensory room. Then when it was time to go back to the classroom, she slept again at 245pm and till now at 930pm, she is still sleeping. Geez, such random and disruptive biological clock.

7 Mar 2011

Charlene's biological clock is going haywire. I really don't know if we made it worse by trying to shift it back slowly. Now, it's super random. I don't know how long she will sleep anymore. The only sure thing I know is that she will wake up in the middle of the night, eyes wide open and I do not know what to do with her.

Dear friends, please pray for Charlene that her routine be re-established that she has a good sleeping pattern and her biological clock go back to normal. Her fits have been swinging too. Sometimes, we do not know if they are fits. So, do continue to pray for the fits to go away...

4 Mar 2011

I flipped Charlene to her left and caused her to wake up. After doing stretching and rolling for her and feeding milk, she still didn't get back to sleep. So I played hymns and went to have lunch. She was still awake and smiling to herself when I came back. I picked her up and changed the music. She began to 'shout' at me, voicing protests. After a few mins, I changed the music back to hymns and she stopped with the happy contented face and shortly later went into dreamland. How amusing.
